Orange County Shorinji Kempo Branch held their Charity Bazar on July 18th-25th, 2016. This is our branches 4th Charity event this year in where we are thankful for the life we live and how much we can accomplish collectively in helping others. Prior to the Bazar starting a 1 hour Shorinji Kempo practice session was held. Majority of the students seemed very eager to finish the practice so they could start buying their pre-selected items.
All of the students were asked to bring an item that would be sold at the bazar. Several Tables and Boxes of items were set up. The student could donate any amount they felt the value for the item. Many brought books, stuffed animals, stationery supplies and board games. One of the tables had many Shorinji Kempo goods from Ozaki Corporation which is always a big hit!!!
Watching the students and parents smiling and laughing was a pivotal point knowing that the funds collected will be going to help other organizations. Many families helped with the setup. A big Thanks goes to Thomas, Nicholas, Lauren, Nathan and Brandon family.
$931.15 was raised and Orange County Shorinji Kempo Organization will match the funds collected for a total of $1,862.30. Giving back to the community in which we live in is at the heart of Shorinji Kempo.
